The new retail-facing instrument enables retailers to provide consumers with confidence in their natural
diamond purchase, by using it both back of house and in new and engaging ways at the point of sale.
It is designed to verify natural diamonds in both jewellery and loose stones.
It can test rings, earrings, pendants, tennis bracelets and loose stones within seconds, giving an automated result that is displayed on the high-resolution touchscreen.
By leveraging technology similar to that used in De Beers’ SynthDetect instrument, the vast majority of natural diamonds will pass without requiring further testing, with less than 1% needing additional evaluation. This advanced technology also ensures a 0% false positive rate for natural diamonds, guaranteeing that no synthetic diamonds will be mistakenly identified as natural.
We received overwhelming interest in DiamondProof when it was unveiled at JCK last year indicating the desire to continue to boost consumer confidence in natural diamonds.

Any stone that DiamondProof cannot verify as a natural diamond will be marked as ‘refer’ with a yellow overlay. We recommend sending these stones for further testing to accurately determine the type of stone.
